Geography Training on Map Reading Skills

The major objectives of this programme are

To develop the map reading skills of upper primary students.
To develop the map drawing skills.
To make the students understand the importance of scales, directions, conventional signs, symbols and use them properly while drawing and reading maps.

Phase II Training to School Teachers			180 DIET faculties (6 faculties from 30 districts)	15147 upper primary school teachers from Government, Aided, Welfare, Municipal, Corporation, Middle, High, Higher Secondary Schools.

The training was inaugurated on 25.10.2010. The function was presided over by Dr.A.Ramachandran IFS, Director of Climate change, Anna University. The training was carefully planned and executed to make the students realise the objectives. Acivities with the maps and atlas, projects, videos were used to enrich the training session in a view to enhance attaining the objectives of the training.
